From our latest press release:
CRI Group announced today that it has achieved certifications ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 (best practice frameworks for information security and quality management systems, respectively) from internationally recognized training and certification body BSI.
With offices in eight continents, CRI Group is a global supplier of risk management, forensic accounting, due diligence and background screening services. In 2014, CRI Group announced that it would engage BSI’s internationally recognized training and certification services to better help its agents remain positioned to address the modern and changing landscape of business risk.
As stated in the certifications, CRI Group’s information security management system provides for the “protection of information related to services regarding fraud risk assessment and investigations, forensic accounting, intellectual property investigations, due diligence and background investigations, debt collections, anti-money laundering, corporate security consulting and investigation, pre- and post-employment screening and business fraud (and) crime investigation.”
As described by BSI, the best practice framework for information security includes an organization’s ability to:
- Identify risks and put controls in place to manage or reduce them
- Flexibility to adapt controls to all or selected areas of your business
- Gain stakeholder and customer trust that their data is protected
- Demonstrate compliance and gain status as preferred supplier
- Meet more tender expectations by demonstrating compliance
Founded in 1901, BSI (also known as British Standards Institution) is the UK national standards body that works with thousands of organizations in more than 150 countries. BSI is accredited by 20 local and international bodies.
Zafar I. Anjum, CRI Group’s president and CEO, said that the highest levels of training and certification help CRI Group provide an expert level of service for their clients in all parts of the world.
“This certification in particular demonstrates our commitment to information security management systems,” Anjum said. “The recognition from BSI is important as it demonstrates enhanced credibility across our operations and business practices.
“Our continued engagement with BSI will help us keep our clients’ information safe and ensure that the processes and procedures we implement for them are efficient and effective,” Anjum said.
Anjum said that CRI Group has a special focus on helping international and multi-national organizations in developing risk mitigation systems. These systems, Anjum said, enable the organizations to remain compliant with national and international regulation while maintaining high standards of business ethics and behavior.
