Malaysia Anti-Corruption Officials Detain High-Ranking Civil Servants

Malaysia's Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has detained and frozen assets worth millions of dollars belonging to three civil servants, two of whom hold honorifics typically reserved for high ranking or accomplished individuals.

Its director of Investigations, Datuk Azam Baki said the three, serving in a government department, a local authority and a government-linked company respectively, were arrested in Kuala Lumpur, Melaka and Kelantan.

The three, in their fifties, were apprehended in a simultaneous operation conducted between noon and 2pm, he said in a statement.
